On May 1, 2008, a group of employees at Mercury Plastics, Inc. completed training on INTERNAL PROCESS AUDITING conducted by John Novak of KAVON International, Inc.
During the training sessions, the concept of a process was introduced along with the four key components (inputs, activities, outputs, and measures). Each student was asked to identify a job they perform everyday and break it down into the four process components. This helped each student gain an understanding of the approach to be used in dissecting the Quality Management System into auditable pieces. Techniques on how to audit each of these components were presented along with forms for documenting the findings.
Actual audits were conducted after the classroom training was completed in order apply what was learned. The emphasis throughout the training was that the internal auditing process must add value to the organization in order to be useful.
