On September 21, 2007, a group of employees at Jergens, Inc. completed training on INTERNAL PROCESS AUDITING conducted by John Novak of KAVON International, Inc.
This course focused on internal process auditing and began with a look at processes within the Jergens organization. By looking at every activity within the organization as a process that is interrelated to all the other processes, students gained an understanding of how to define the scope of individual audits based upon the audit objective. The emphasis throughout the training was that the internal auditing process must add value to the organization in order to be useful.
Techniques on how to audit each of the basic components of a process (inputs, activities, outputs, and measures) were discussed, including specific information to collect on each component in order to determine process effectiveness.
Techniques learned in the classroom were then applied in live audits that were conducted within the organization.
Jergens, Inc. was chartered in Ohio, March 23, 1942 as Glenn Tool and Manufacturing Co. It later merged with Jergens Tool Specialty Co. giving rise to its present name. From its very beginnings, Christy Schron and Jack Schron, his son, fostered the philosophy of a company dedicated to increased productivity for industry.
Jergens was an early innovator in the design, development and manufacture of standard component parts for jigs, fixtures, dies and special machinery. Today, they are in the forefront in the development of advanced hydraulic clamping components and quick-change devices.
As technology has developed, so has their catalog. From its first printing, to the 50-year edition, the Jergens' catalog has been a mainstay in machine shops and production facilities around the world, bringing engineers, tool makers and machinists tomorrow's technology today.
After 28 months of ongoing development and testing on its proprietary learning management software and engine, Tooling University LLC was carved out of its parent company, Jergens, Inc. in February 2002.
Jergens is certified to ISO 9001:2000.
