On September 11, 2003, a group of Timken Latrobe Steel Distribution employees successfully completed the course, INTERNAL AUDITING: Mini-Audits? for Maximum Results. Tom Fazekas, from KAVON International, Inc., conducted the course.
During the course, the students were introduced to the concept of internal auditing, its importance to Timken Latrobe Steel Distribution in obtaining registration to ISO 9001:2000. The students participated in a number of exercises that reinforced the concepts being taught.
Timken Latrobe Steel Distribution (TLSD), a unit of The Timken Company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Timken Latrobe Steel, was formed in May 1997 from the merger of Houghton and Richards Corporation and Ohio Alloy Steel Corporation.
